FAQ's

Do you have a studio?

Yes, we currently have a small studio that we use mainly for newborns, children and during the colder months of the year.   All other sessions are done outdoors, weather permitting.

How much are your sessions?

Our Session fees range from $75-$250.  Wedding Collections start at $2500.  Please contact us for our Portrait or Wedding Guide.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a non-refundable retainer session fee is due at the time you book your session.

What does this include?

Session fees only include Willow & Birch, Inc. time and artistry.  Additional purchases are required after your session at your viewing and ordering appointment.

How much should I expect to spend?

On average, a client invests between $500-$2500 between their  portrait session and on their custom portrait order.  This can include gift prints, wall prints, canvases, custom photo albums, collages and digital files.   Please note: Pricing is subject to change without notice.

How long does it take to get my photographs?

I know you are excited to see your photos, but due to seasonal volume we cannot make any guarantees on the exact date your photographs will be ready.  In general, it takes 1-3 weeks to process your order after it has been placed and 2-3 weeks shipping.  If you are having a custom fine art prints or albums made, production time is longer and can take up to 8-12 weeks.

How far out are you booked?

We currently only offer sessions Tuesday- Friday and some Saturdays.

  • If you are interested in booking maternity or newborn session please call about half way through your pregnancy to book.
  • If you are joining our Watch Me Grow Program please book your session at least 2 months in advance.
  • If you are a Senior please book your session by early June as my summer schedule fills up fast.  We will only book Senior sessions till the end of August to allow time for editing before yearbook photos are due to the local High Schools by October 1st.
  • Family sessions fill up fast, and although we do family photography throughout the year, Fall is the busiest time of year for our studio.  If you are wanting a fall family session please contact us to be put on my waiting list.  You will be contacted first before we take any additional bookings.

How long does a session last?

Most sessions generally last about an 1-2 hours with Newborn sessions lasting 2-3 hours.

What should we wear?

We highly suggest clothing for each family member that has the same tone, not necessarily the same color. Please be weary of wearing stripes, plaids, and anything that has a logo on it.  These do not generally make for great photographs.  If you have questions or would like my opinion please feel free to email, text, or call us.  We would LOVE to help you style your session.  This also helps us plan better for your session and make sure we have the right backdrops selected in advance.

Can we bring multiple outfits for our session?

Yes, we suggest at least 2 outfit changes.  If you are having your family photographed please make sure your outfits coordinate.  If you are having your child photographed please don't bring too many, this can cause your child to get irritated, and once this happens the session is usually done.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Generally we can shoot in most conditions other than a down pour or 50 mph winds.  We don't mind shooting in the cold as long as you and your children are comfortable.  If the weather does permit us from shooting outdoors we can always do them in the studio or reschedule for a later date if available.

What if my child isn't cooperating?

If your child is having a bad day and we have tried everything to improve their mood, I will generally offer a reshoot, if my schedule allows.   If the child is not cooperating because you did not take into consideration their nap time, feeding or they are not feeling well we will not offer a reshoot.  Please take these things into consideration when scheduling your session.  If your child does come down with an illness and you have already scheduled your session please contact me to reschedule.  We do not want sick kiddos in the studio since we have newborns in there frequently.  We would rather you bring your child in when they are feeling well so we can get the best portraits.

My newborn is scheduled for a session and I would like to have a few shots with the whole family, just parents or with other siblings.  Do you charge extra for this?

Yes, our newborn sessions includes just photographs of the newborn, if you want to add on photographs with parents or siblings there is an additional charge.  These sessions generally take 2-3 hours.  We like to take photographs of the baby with family and siblings first and then younger siblings are allowed to leave with one of the parents.  We do not recommend having your older children hang out and wait till we are done photographing your newborn.  These sessions are long, hot (the studio will be 70-80 degrees to make sure baby is warm enough) and we need to have it as quiet as possible in the studio.

How far along do I need to be to get maternity photographs taken?

We would like to see you between 32-36 weeks.  Please make sure to schedule your appointment about half way through your pregnancy. If anything changes during your pregnancy such as being put on bed rest, being induced earlier than expected, or expecting an earlier delivery please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule.  We will do our best to accommodate you.

Do you offer payment plans?

Your session fee is due at the time of booking.  At your ordering and viewing appointment 1/2 of the total is due at the time the order is placed and the remaining balance will be split into payments.  Products will be scheduled for pickup or delivery after payment is receive in full.

What type of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, credit cards and PayPal.
